Accessing the site

  1. Open a new browser window.
  2. Type in or copy and paste www.greatartisans.com
  3. Login
  • Type your username and password into the grey authentication box and click Ok.
  • Click on the Log in link in the right column. Type in the username and password you have been given and click on the Log in button.
  1. Click any of the options in the navigation menu at the left of the screen to access the different pages in the site or click on item in the My Stuff to add or edit your items.

Note: You must have cookies enabled to log in to a GreatArtisans site.

Updating your password
Passwords can be updated by:

    1. Click my account in the menu at the right in the My Stuff. Your user account page will appear.
    2. Click the edit tab.
    3. Scroll down until you see the Password heading. Enter your new password in the two fields provided.
    4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.
    5. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

Retrieving your password
Passwords can be retrieved by:

    1. Type in your username and click on the Request new password link
    2. Your password will be emailed to the email address associated with your account.

    Retrieving your user name

    1. Click on Contact, select "Lost user name" from drop down box and enter the email address associated with the account. We will retrieve your user name and send it to the email address associated with the account.

    Creating or editing your artisan's personal statement.

    1. Click Booth in the menu on the right under "My Stuff". Click Add Booth. Your booth page will appear.
    2. Add a small 100 x 100 pixel personal image, if you wish by browsing to your image and clicking "upload"
    3. Fill in or change Artisan's Statement as required and click the Submit button to save your changes.
    4. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

    Adding a photo so it appears every time you post

    1. Click my account in the menu at the top-left of every screen. Your user account page will appear.
    2. Click the edit tab.
    3. Scroll down to the Picture field and click the Browse button.
    4. Select the picture file you wish to use from the File Upload window, and click Open.
    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit button to save your changes.
    6. If your changes don't seem to have been made correctly, you might need to clear your browser cache by pressing CTRL and F5 at the same time.
    7. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

    Reading blogs

    1. Click blogs in the menu at the top of every screen.
    • To access your own blog, click the my blog link that will then appear in the menu under the blogs link. Your blog page should appear in the main window.
    • To add to your blog, click the Blog entry link that appears under "My Stuff" and add an entry to your blog
    • To read other people's blogs, scroll through the postings on the main blogs page until you find a posting from the person you are looking for. Then click on the link to their blog under the posting (eg xx's blog).
    1. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

    Posting to your blog

    1. Click blogs in the menu at the top-left of every screen.
    2. Click the my blog link that will then appear in the menu under the blogs link. Your blog page should appeahttp://greatartisans.com/content/faqs-userr in the main window.
    3. Click Post new blog entry in the middle of the window. A Submit blog entry window will appear.
    4. Type into the Title and Body fields.
    5. If you wish to add an attachment, click on File attachments below the Body field, click on the Browse button, select the file you wish to use from the File Upload window, and click Open. Then click the Attach button.
    6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit button. Your new post should then appear in the main window.
    7. Click on >>blogs>> in the breadcrumbs at the top of the main window to go back to the main blogs page. You will see your new posting at the top of the list.
    8. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

    Adding comments or replies to a blog

    1. Click blogs in the menu at the top-left of every screen and scroll down until you find the blog posting to which you wish to add a comment or reply.
    • Click add new comment (which will appear if no-one has yet posted a comment to the post) beneath the blog posting.
    • Click x comments (eg. 2 new comments) beneath the blog posting (which will appear if others have posted comments before you). Then click add new comment beneath the top blog posting.
    1. In the Reply window that appears, type into the Subject and Comment fields and click the Preview comment button at the bottom of the window. You will see your comment.
    2. Scroll down and click the Post comment button to post your comment. You will be returned to the add new comment form where you will see your comment at the bottom of the window.
    3. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc. Alternatively, click on >>blogs>> in the breadcrumbs at the top of the main window to go back to the main blogs page.

    Reading forums

    1. Click forums in the menu at the top-left of every screen.
    • To read the postings to a discussion topic:
      1. Click on the name of a forum (in blue type) on the main Forums page.
      2. Click on the title of the topic. The topic, all comments to the topic, and all replies to the comments will appear.
    • To read your own postings to blogs or forums:
      1. Click My discussions near the top of the window on the main Forums page.
      2. Click on the title of the posting you wish to read in the Post column.

    Adding images of your work
    Click Item in the "My Stuff" box on the right. Click Add Item.

    1. Add image title - the name of your item
    2. Select the category or categories where the work belongs. Hold down Ctrl button in Windows or Shift on a Mac to select multiple categories
    3. Select your booth name from the drop down list. If you DO NOT see a name in the drop down box, you haven't created a page to display your pictures. Click Boothin the "My Stuff" box, then "Add Booth" and add a booth title (your name or your business name) and an artisan's personal statement. Hit Submit. Click Image to start adding your images
    4. Next, browse to the image you want to upload to your website in your computer. Select.
    5. Add a description of this work.
    6. If you are selling your work, enter the price on the next line.
    7. If you want to sell you work using a paypal "Buy Now" button and need instructions on how to enter paypal information, Click Here
    8. To add a link to your website or a product page on your shopping cart, enter the link information. If you do not have a website, ignore this field.
    9. HIT SUBMIT. If you do not, your image will not be saved.

    Adding a Paypal button

    1. Create or access your Paypal account and click on Merchant Services.
    2. Click on "Buy Now" under buttons.
    3. Fill out the item information and price.
    4. Select the button you want displayed, select NO encryption and select shipping charges and sales tax information. Paypal has detailed instructions on how to work with the this setup if you have any questions.
    5. Hit Create Button Now
    6. Select All HTML code for websites and copy the information to a text file until needed.
    7. Enter the html code in the paypal area in your image.
    8. Just below the paypal area, clickInput Format and select "Filtered HTML"
    9. Click Submit

    Posting to a forum

    1. Click forums in the menu at the top-left of every screen.
    • To create a new forum topic:
      1. Click on the name of a forum (in blue type) on the main Forums page.
      2. Click on Post new forum topic near the top of the window.
      3. Type in the Subject and Body fields, and select a category from the Forums drop-down list.
      4. Click Submit at the bottom of the window.
    • To add a comment to an existing topic, or a reply to a comment:
      1. Click on the name of a forum (in blue type) on the main Forums page.
      2. Click on the title of the topic (in blue type) to which you wish to post.
      3. Click on add new comment or reply at the bottom of the posting or comment to which you wish to post. A Reply form will appear at the bottom of the window.
      4. Type in the Subject and Comment fields and click Post comment. Your comment will appear at the bottom of the window.
    1. Click Home at the top of the window, or any of the options in the menu at the top-left of the screen to access blogs, forums, links, your account information, help, etc.

    Cancel my membership
    If you want to cancel your membership, either log onto your Paypal account and follow the cancellation directions there or Contact Administrator and she will take care of it for you.
